Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Teaching English As A Second Language (TESL) - UPTM

In the B. Ed (Hons.) in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), students will learn the fundamentals of education, the essence of teaching by integrating 21st Century education system while specialising in both linguistics and literature to accomodate the knowledge of English as a second language.

Students learn to adapt, design and implement various education and teaching English as a second language components through a mix of theoretical and hands-on activities. Specialised skills are developed through courses such asPsycholinguistics, Error and Constrastive Analysis, Literary Criticism and Teaching Practicum.

Minimum Requirement  :

A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent, with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects;

OR

A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid ;

OR

A Diploma or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00

OR
Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) with a minimum Academic CGPA  3.33 and Vocational CGPA 3.67; competent in all Vocational subjects and credits in Bahasa Melayu SVM Kod 1104

OR

Matriculation/Foundation or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00.

** International students are required to achieve a minimum score of 5.0 for IELTS or 500 for TOEFL or its equivalent
